The Criminal Justice System Cycle
Presented on Jun 5, 2014 / Published on Jul 17, 2014

This talk, by PA DOC Secretary John Wetzel, was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Can we stop the cycle of the criminal justice system? Wetzel challenges everyone -- inside prison and outside in the community -- to look at the role they play in society, urging everyone to create a better environment for our children and our future.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Notices to Inmate
Families and Friends

We receive many e-mails from family members of inmates who are new receptions to the system and are worried about receiving phone calls from their loved ones.  Due to the busy schedule involving inmate orientation, and multiple assessments/evaluations performed upon initial reception, it can be several weeks until an inmate can set up his telephone list and get it approved in order to make phone calls.
